The Next Frontier for Productivity in the Enterprise

|   Apr 18, 2013

Today we are announcing a brand new Socialcast experience for our customers. With this latest release, we have made it even easier to synchronize work-related messages, connect with colleagues, and collaborate as teams.

If you have been using Socialcast for a while, the first thing you will notice is the new look-and-feel. It’s cleaner. More streamlined. It’s easier to see and manage more of your work in one place so you can focus on what is most important. Streams, group workspaces, private conversations, Town Halls and even Projects are all accessible in one convenient navigation panel. The new interface makes it easier to navigate and find what you are looking for. (If you are not familiar with Socialcast, take a look by signing up for a free community).

Integrated Project Management. We are very excited to bring the power of social to project management. Let’s be honest, the vast majority of our time at work is spent on projects – if we’re not actually doing the work, then we are talking with team members, attending meetings, or reporting on progress. Two years ago, we launched a beta product called Strides that was our initial exploration into social project management. We took all the feedback users gave us, and put that into creating Socialcast Projects. We believe we have created an easy-to-use and highly efficient tool that emphasizes communication over process to help teams work more efficiently. Now team members can track deliverables, action items, and timelines within the Socialcast community, without the need to resort to spreadsheets, emails, or status meetings.

Secure real-time messaging. We also continue to innovate in mobile. Today’s workforce is increasingly mobile and device-savvy. When employees use third-party IM or chat tools outside the firewall, work-related communications are beyond IT control, leaving large companies vulnerable to security breaches and compliance violations. We’re committed to providing enterprise-class solutions that IT trusts and employees love. So we enhanced Private Messages and created a companion iOS app called Socialcast Messenger to provide instant communications between individuals or groups in the Socialcast community. Socialcast Messenger stays synchronized with the Private Message stream in Socialcast, so all ad hoc work-related communications are captured and stored securely in one place.

In today’s competitive environment, business leaders are looking for ways to leverage their investments in people. Increasingly, Enterprise Social Networking is seen as the new frontier of productivity, used by companies to improve collaboration, break down the organizational barriers that impede communication, and mine the insights locked away in information silos.

By bringing people, conversations, and projects together in one place, Socialcast is delivering on the promise of social networking for innovative, knowledge-driven companies across a variety of industries. We hope you like the new Socialcast, and we are interested in hearing what you think.
