Love the Hub
SAS Celebrates One Year of Enterprise Social Networking with “The Hub” – Powered by VMware Socialcast
SAS has a lot to love this Valentine’s Day. For SAS Employees, February 14th will mark the one-year anniversary of launching their Socialcast community called “The Hub”.
The “Love the Hub” event launched online at 5am EST and will run until 5PM.
SAS will be conducting polls, quizzes, and contests throughout the day where people will learn more about the power of enterprise social networking, and how The Hub is helping SAS discover “a new way to work.”
In the fall of 2010, SAS found themselves communicating across myriad social media and other software platforms, and many of those conversations were being lost in the shuffle. The hunt for one program to consolidate their communications experience had begun.
SAS found in Socialcast a quick, evolutionary fix that addressed their concerns almost immediately. After a thorough and competitive evaluation, SAS chose Socialcast for their enterprise social networking platform in December of 2010. By Valentines Day, 2011, The Hub was already primed for launch.
Seemingly overnight, SAS employees gained the ability to communicate globally in real time, to participate more effectively in meetings without even being there, and to collaborate efficiently with co-workers they may never meet face to face.
SAS has made enterprise social networking a verb. More than 65% of the workforce at SAS – over 8,000 employees worldwide – are “Hubbing” on a daily basis. Hubbing from their iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and browsers. Hubbing to get answers, to access expertise, share key insights and knowledge, and review future and current plans.
The “Love the Hub” event is designed to highlight “Hubbing” success stories and to encourage the entire company to lend their voice to The Hub. The Hub becomes a more valuable tool with each new member that signs on.
Socialcast is honored to be onsite at SAS headquarters in North Carolina to celebrate The Hub’s one-year anniversary.
Join us on Twitter today as we report from inside The Hub, and discover the many ways SAS employees are using Socialcast software to solve problems, facilitate global collaboration, and forge connections with co-workers across the office and around the world.
